2023 Independence Day Celebrations in the Valley

Bryce: Saturday, July 1, 2023. Celebrate your Independence Day Weekend at Bryce with the annual, family-friendly Bryce Fest! Browse the vendor village full of unique, local crafts and food. Dance the night away to live music and close out the evening with a spectacular fireworks display!

Harrisonburg: Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance announced that its Independence Day Fireworks show will happen Saturday, July 1 at 9 p.m.

HDR says if you’re planning on watching the fireworks display, here are some viewing locations in and around Downtown Harrisonburg that are best for viewing:

  • Turner Pavilion and Park, 228 S. Liberty St--look west!
  • Food Maxx International Market, 924 W. Market St.
  • JMU Memorial Hall Parking Lots, 395 S. High St.
  • Thomas Harrison Middle School, 1311 W. Market St.
  • Westside Baptist Church, 715 W. Wolfe St.
  • Harrisonburg High School, 1001 Garber’s Church Rd.
  • Top of Water Street Parking Deck

Westover Park will be the launch site for the Independence Day Fireworks display. The upper portion of the park including the Price Rotary Senior Center, park shelters, playground, and disc golf course will close Saturday, July 1 at 1 p.m. and will reopen Sunday, July 2 at 8 a.m. The lower portion including Westover Pool, skate park, parking areas, and all outdoor spaces will close Saturday, July 1 at 5 p.m. and reopen Sunday, July 2 at 8 a.m.

Front Royal: Monday, July 3, 2023. After the Front Royal Cardinals baseball game at 7pm, the night sky will be lit up with a beautiful fireworks display sponsored by the Town of Front Royal! You can park ANYWHERE in the park and be able to enjoy the show--you don't have to attend the game to see them!

Luray: Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 -DOWNTOWN GET DOWN - Food, Tunes, & Booms!

  • 1 to 5pm LDI's Star Spangled Cruise-In
  • Main Street Bridge
  • 5 to 7pm Live Music @ Ruffner Plaza & Mechanic Street Lot
  • 5 to 9pm Food Trucks
  • 5 to 9pm Lawns Games & Inflatables

New Market: Independence Day Celebration - Wednesday July 5, 2023. 5-9:30pm at the Community Park. An evening of live entertainment, great food, youth and adult activities and of course FIREWORKS.

  • Live Entertainment by Little Walter and the Convictions at 6:30 p.m.
  • Fireworks at 9:20 p.m.
  • Feel free to bring chairs or blankets for comfort.
  • PETS and ALCOHOL are NOT permitted.

Staunton: Happy Birthday America will host Fourth of July festivities at Gypsy Hill Park beginning with a pageant on Sunday, July 2, a vesper service on Monday, July 3 and numerous activities throughout the day on Tuesday, July 4, including a 5K run, parade, games, entertainment, vendors and more. Fireworks are scheduled to begin about 10 p.m., after the Wilson Fairchild with Gene Watson concert on Tuesday night. For a complete schedule of activities, visit the Happy Birthday America website.

Waynesboro: July 8, 2023, there will be a special fireworks display shot off from the top of Sunset Park. This should provide for a spectacular view from just about anywhere in Waynesboro. Start thinking of the possible great viewing spots… your front yard, neighborhood, or other areas in Waynesboro. If you can see Sunset Park, then you'll be able to see the fireworks.

Woodstock: Tuesday, July 4, 2023 (Rain date July 5). Shenandoah County Fairgrounds- Gates open at 8:30 pm. Show starts at approximately 9:30pm. Free admission.
