If you’ve been getting bitten by mosquitoes more than usual, there might be a few reasons why:
- You just exercised: Physical activity raises your body temperature and increases the production of carbon dioxide and lactic acid, both of which attract mosquitoes.
- You haven’t showered: Mosquitoes are drawn to certain types of bacteria, which are more prevalent around our ankles and feet, making these areas prime targets.
- You’re wearing dark clothing: Colors like red, black, and blue attract more mosquitoes compared to lighter colors such as white and yellow.
- You’re drinking alcohol: Alcohol consumption dilates blood vessels, making your skin warmer and more appealing to mosquitoes. Additionally, the ethanol in your sweat can attract them.
