Traffic jams are terrible.

They always seem to happen when you're in a hurry to get somewhere. If you've been on the road over the last year, bet you noticed this too - people are driving crazier than ever. I've seen a ton of road rage, dangerous weaving, tailgating and straight up yelling, swearing and throwing things from one car to another.

Surprise, surprise. This is the opposite of how we collectively fix traffic.

A new math study explains that the problem is that we're not keeping the right distance to the car behind you. Not that you can control how close the car behind you is, but the study says that if every car kept an equal distance between the cars behind & in front of them traffic would move twice as fast.
