The Quarantine Is Affecting The Way We Look At Ourselves

Studies suggest that people are looking at themselves in the mirror more since staying home. It's had an impact on how we see ourselves. People seem to be going one of two ways. For example...

A survey found that being at home is making people more confident about their natural look. 69% of those surveyed said they’ve been wearing less makeup than usual – and some are embracing the natural look. In fact, more than 25% of respondents say they feel more comfortable going makeup-free during video calls.

39% of 18 to 24-year-olds surveyed say they’re feeling less pressure to look a certain way while sheltering at home, and more than 25% say they will be more confident in embracing their natural look once they can go out again.

And now for the complete opposite...

People have been spending a lot of time video chatting these days – which means people are looking at themselves a lot more than usual … and some aren’t happy with what they see. According to plastic surgeons, this has resulted in an uptick of appointments and online consultations for cosmetic procedures.

How are you feeling? I'm probably a little bit of both.
