The prime minister of New Zealand proclaimed, “We consider both the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny to be essential workers.” Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern assured the nation’s children that a viral pandemic will not cancel Easter candy.
However, delivering Easter eggs this year can be complicated. Prime Minister Ardern warned that the Easter Bunnies around the world may have family obligations. “They're going to be potentially quite busy at home. We have to understand that it’s a bit difficult at the moment for the bunny to get everywhere.”
Arden offered a solution: The Big New Zealand Easter Egg Hunt. Families are now placing hand-drawn eggs in their front windows. Then this Easter Sunday morning, children will walk the neighborhood counting the eggs.
