A company in Atlanta is designing a jet that will be able to fly from New York to London in just 90 minutes.
The passenger jet the Hermeus Corporation is working on will -- supposedly -- have a cruising speed of 3,300 miles per hour. That’s more than four times the speed of sound and twice as fast as the Concorde, which used to be the world’s fastest commercial jet before it was retired.
Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait up to 10 years for Hermeus to finish this thing; and it’s expected to cost $3,000 to take the trans-Atlantic flight -- which might be just out of reach for most people.
