A parent that Eddie does not know yelled at his son and he’s not sure if he did the right thing in this situation!
They were at a trampoline place and his son was by the water fountain when he heard a mom yell, “Hey! What are you doing?” Eddie was sitting on a couch and turned around to see what was going on and saw a random lady yelling at his 11-year-old son. He walked up and asked what was going on and the lady told him that his son pushed her son against the wall. His son explained that he was just drinking water out of the water fountain and her son kept pushing him and telling him to hurry up which caused him to get water all over his face, so he turned around and pushed him. Eddie thought it sounded like the kid deserved it, but he privately told his son that the kid shouldn’t have done that to him, but he shouldn’t have reacted like that and can’t just push and hit people. He believes his son's story because that son does not lie. Eddie apologized to the parent and said he’d talk to him about it but also told the lady not to yell at his son, which she said she understood.
Eddie’s son also has three brothers, and they are always pushing each other in the house, so that’s how he knows how to react. Everyone agreed this is where parenting gets hard because you don’t want them to react, but you also want them to stick up for themselves.
