Harrisonburg is offering a new swim lesson program for public school students! The age range for eligibility is rising kindergarteners through 2nd graders.
These swim lessons will be free to participants as this program is funded by the Swim for Sadie Memorial Fund.
Sadie Cate Deeble was a beloved member of all the communities she was a part of, which included several sport and swim teams.
"We hope that other children will discover a love of swimming, make friends, and have fun, all while learning a skill that will help keep them healthy and safe. This is one way that Sadie’s light can continue to shine."
As this is the first year the program is active, they are prioritizing the registration of 2nd graders, as they will be ineligible next year.
Each participant can register for one Swim for Sadie session per season! More information on when and where these lessons take place, and how to register is available here!
