Carly Pearce revealed the release date of her duet with Riley Green after posting a steamy teaser.
Pearce, 35, confirmed on Wednesday morning (March 4) that the collaboration with Green, 37, is called “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay.” It’s set to arrive on Friday, March 13. Last week, the Kentucky-born country star posted a romantic clip with a sneak peek of the unreleased ballad, and wrote in her caption, “baby isn’t doing this the definition of insane.” Commenters on TikTok and Instagram said “my jaw is on the FLOOR,” “we ain’t ready,” “didn’t expect this one,” “I didn’t see this on my bingo card,” “stop playing and release the album already,” and more.
“If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay” will follow “Dream Come True” and “Church Girl,” Pearce’s most recent singles as she gets ready to welcome fans into her next chapter. Pearce explained that “Dream Come True” is “about the sacrifices we make when chasing our dreams.” “Church Girl” is a song that Pearce hopes “meets you wherever you are and gives you a sense of love and acceptance, and not judgement.”
Pearce confirmed in a recent conversation with Senior Music Editor Joseph Hudak on Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast that her album is “done.” The Grammy-winning artist’s fifth studio record will follow 2024’s hummingbird, which included “country music made me do it,” “truck on fire,” “we don’t fight anymore” with Chris Stapleton and more. She extended the record into a 19-track deluxe edition, hummingbird: no rain, no flowers, in March 2025. Pearce has not announced a release date for her next studio album as of publication time.
