The Band Perry has officially entered a new chapter, returning with fresh music after nearly a decade and unveiling a reimagined lineup led by Kimberly Perry and her husband, Johnny Costello.
The duo has launched what Kimberly describes as “Season 2” of the group with the release of a new single, “PSYCHOLOGICAL.” While Kimberly remains the band’s voice and central creative force, Costello now contributes across multiple instruments, shaping the sound of this revamped era.
Originally formed by Kimberly and her brothers Reid and Neil Perry, The Band Perry rose to prominence in 2010 with the chart-topping hit “If I Die Young.” In recent years, the siblings have moved in different directions: Reid has transitioned into artist management, and Neil has been developing solo projects, leaving Kimberly to carry the band forward under its established name.
Kimberly and Costello — who share a young son — are also preparing for an extensive touring schedule, with dozens of shows planned for 2026. She has described their creative partnership as a balance of intensity and grounding, reflected in the theatrical tone of the new material.
“PSYCHOLOGICAL” introduces this next phase with dramatic flair and dark humor, exploring obsessive devotion through exaggerated lyrics and a playful, over-the-top perspective. The track signals that The Band Perry’s revival aims to be bold and stylized rather than nostalgic, positioning the act for a distinctly different second act.
