LeAnn Rimes recently opened up about an unexpected mishap during a live performance that left her dealing with a dental emergency mid-song.
While performing over the weekend at the Skagit Valley Casino & Resort in Bow, Washington, the 42-year-old country star said she suddenly felt something shift in her mouth. As it turns out, the bridge she has in her front teeth came loose while she was singing her 1996 hit “One Way Ticket (Because I Can).”
In a lighthearted TikTok recap, Rimes told fans that she’s had several dental procedures over the years, and during the show, her dental bridge simply popped out. Surprised and a bit panicked, she stopped mid-performance, rushed off to the side of the stage to quickly pop it back in, and then jumped right back into the song like nothing happened.
Rather than keep it a secret, Rimes decided to be honest with the audience and explain what was going on. She joked that she had to keep pushing her teeth back into place between lyrics, especially during songs full of tricky consonants like “Can’t Fight the Moonlight”—where, at one point, the bridge actually fell out again.
She called the whole incident both hilarious and unforgettable, admitting it was one of the most unique moments of her career. “That was a first—and hopefully a last,” she laughed. Rimes even joked to fans in the front row to be on alert in case anything flew their way, asking them to kindly return her teeth if they caught them.
Despite the chaos, Rimes stayed on stage, cracked jokes, and kept the music going. She reminded fans that sometimes you just have to roll with the punches—and that a little humility goes a long way. “The show doesn’t stop just because things go sideways,” she said.
Rimes, who shot to stardom at just 13 years old with her breakout album Blue, has spent decades in the spotlight—but even seasoned performers aren’t immune to surprises.
