Georgia Teen Saved As Suicide Attempt Is Streamed On Facebook

Facebook Live is finally getting credit for saving a life, and not streaming a death. A Georgia teenager was broadcasting her own suicide attempt last week on Facebook’s live broadcast service, and the stream stayed up long enough for authorities to rescue her.

The 15-year-old girl had taken several pills and covered her head in a plastic bag. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office received several calls and was contacted by Facebook about the live stream. Deputies located her house, found her unresponsive but with a pulse. Thankfully, she's expected to be okay.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that the company is hiring 3,000 people to review videos and live content after a series of horrific events were broadcast on the LIVE stream.
