Neiman-Marcus is Selling 'Destroyed Sneakers'

It's getting a little, nay, a lot ridiculous- the number of weird clothing items retailers are selling. Neiman-Marcus just got in on the action. They're selling destroyed shoes for $1,425!

The shoes are described as a "high-top sneaker with heavy distressing" and comes with exposed padding, stapled leather and frayed material, but the weird thing is that it's actually made in Italy!

Who's actually buying these? I'm no fashion expert, but does this mean my lawn mowing, dog-crap-picking-up shoes are fashion statements too?
