David Letterman turns 70 years old today, but there’ll be little celebrating. Last night, his mother Dorothy Mengering passed away.
In the '90s, Dorothy became an infrequent guest on his talk show. She’d appear from her Indiana home baking pies in the kitchen. She also served as the show's "correspondent" from three different Winter Olympics.
She's survived by her three children, including David, and five grandchildren.
Dorothy Mengering was 95.
