FEEL GOOD STORY: Girl With Alopecia Wins School’s Crazy Hair Day

When seven-year-old Gianessa Wride’s school had a Crazy Hair Day recently, she got creative. The little girl has an auto-immune condition called alopecia that causes her hair to fall out.

But being bald didn’t keep this Utah first-grader from participating in the school event. She and her mom, Daniella, decided to bedazzle Gianessa’s head with stick on jewels and gems. They had glittering owls, flowers, and sparkles. And she looked so good, she won for Best Crazy Hair of the day!

“She's is so brave and beautiful,” says her proud mom. “The sheer determination and confidence rolls off in  waves from this tiny girl. I just love her!”
