Before we get into this, there are two things you need to know…one of which the Twitterverse may have forgotten.
First, if you don’t know, Nancy Kerrigan had her knee broken by an attacker hired by a fellow Olympic skater years ago. Second, saying “break a leg” is a long held way to say “good luck” in the entertainment world. Ok….now then, let’s continue.
Former Olympian and “Dancing with the Stars” champion Kristi Yamaguchi tweeted well wishes to Nancy Kerrigan when she debuted on the show this week. She said “Can’t wait to see you grace that ballroom floor, break a leg!” Off course, Twitter couldn’t let it go.
Seriously, the leg incident happened in 1993. And Kerrigan took the comment as it was graciously intended.
