The only thing you like less than wearing a bra is having to wash it. The washing machine usually leaves your lacy bras looking like a ratty old doily. So you'll be thrilled with the news that you don’t actually have to wash them until they’ve been worn several times.
You can thank Lexie Sachs, senior product analyst in the Textiles Lab at the Good Housekeeping Institute for the tip. It doesn’t even matter that “several times” is completely vague, you should be excited to not feel so guilty about your neglected lingerie laundry.
Sure, most of women have been using the “several times” rule, so you’re not saving any time or actually doing less work. Just know you're not slacking.
While she gives some flexibility with the laundry schedule, Sachs does recommend washing bras in a mesh bag to minimize wear and tear, and laying them flat to dry.
