Blake Shelton has a pretty good "back in the day" story from when he was new to the business. He was performing at a McDonald's in Birmingham, Alabama as part of a radio promotion...and then this happened.
"A guy is standing off to the side and he's like, 'Hey, you're Blake, right?' I'm like, 'Yeah, good to meet you.' He says, 'I brought something for you.' He hands me this paper sack. I sat back down, and I looked in the sack and it was a bag of weed.
"And I remember thinking, 'Oh my god, I just got set up.' He handed me this bag of weed...Are the police gonna show up? I ran to the bathroom and flushed it all down the toilet, which I never would've done now, right? Now, it'd be like, 'hey, hey.'
"But at the time I was 24 years old in Alabama and I was like, 'Oh my god, I just got set up and am going to jail'...but I didn't."
