If You're Not Ready For Full Workouts, Try Exercise Snacking

Not in the shape you were before the pandemic? Instead of jumping back in to full workouts, which can feel intimidating, there is an easy way to start getting on track with your fitness goals. It's called "exercise snacking!"

Unfortunately, it's not eating small snacks during your workout :) It's doing small micro-workouts throughout the day to get you used to going back to the gym for longer amounts of time.

30 minutes on the treadmill used to be a breeze, but nowadays it's a little harder just because of the pandemic, but new research finds that breaking up prolonged sitting with short activity breaks - like a two-minute walk or a set of squats can help stabilize blood sugar levels.

Another study shows that people who did three intermittent bouts of stair-climbing a day also got a cardiovascular boost similar to one they’d get from a longer moderate-intensity workout.

"Exercise snacking" can be any type of workout that you do in small increments throughout the day, but essentially add up to the same amount of time you would spend at the gym in one visit!
