Could bacteria be the key to losing weight? If you're taking probiotics, maybe. According to research published in the “International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition,” taking probiotics can actually help reduce your BMI and help you lose weight.

In fact, they found that taking probiotics, and taking different types of probiotics reduced BMI and body weight with the greatest reduction in BMI occurring in overweight adults who took them.

How would you know you needed to take these? Obviously check with your doctor first, but your skin can also be a sign.

“The skin really is mirror of what is happening within. Acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, rashes and dark circles under the eyes can all be linked to poor digestive health" says integrative wellness practitioner Debbie Dickson. "“These bad bacteria feed off your nutrition, depleting you of valuable nutrients – leaving you hungry all the time – which can be a real issue if you’re trying to lose weight."

So, if you want to feel and look lighter, you might want to give probiotics a try. You know, if you want.
